Before your first lesson, ensure that you get plenty of sleep.

Be sure only to take what you need to learn to drive.
If you plan to bring your phone with you to the driving lesson, you should turn it off or put it on flight mode to avoid distraction while you are on the practice. You will not need to use your mobile phone while driving any part of your lesson since doing so is illegal and dangerous and can cause an accident. You can bring the necessary things with you but avoid bringing so much. Also, you will need a learner driver logbook after your class if you require one, so be sure your driving instructor can sign it off.
Make sure your clothing and shoes are appropriate.
Make sure that you wear shoes that are comfortable and allow your feet to move freely. It is advisable to avoid footwear, including heels that affect how your feet would naturally function. You must get a feel for driving the car during the lessons entirely on your own, even though many vehicles today have features that facilitate driving.
Wearing comfortable clothes when taking a driving lesson is especially important so you can freely move your arms and legs and turn your body quickly, so it’s easier to maintain a consistent speed and use the clutch or brakes. The ability to control the car with ease and turn to check your blind spots while driving or reversing will require ease of motion.
